Reintegration and Resettlement

Helping people rebuild with purpose and long-term stability.

IRARA’s reintegration and resettlement support goes beyond short-term handouts to deliver long-lasting impact. Our services are tailored to each person’s situation, enabling them to build a stable and meaningful life after return. We work alongside returnees to co-create their pathway, offering both practical tools and long-term encouragement.

Our reintegration support includes:

  • Business grants and mentoring: We provide access to micro-grants for individuals ready to launch small enterprises. Funds are disbursed to verified local suppliers and accompanied by one-on-one coaching in cash flow management, pricing, marketing, and inventory. We help returnees align business ideas with market opportunities and coach them through early-stage challenges.
  • Vocational training: IRARA supports returnees in enrolling at accredited local training centres that offer practical, employable skills. We prioritise trades that align with labour market demand, such as agriculture, logistics, beauty services, and digital skills. Where possible, we connect training with apprenticeship or placement opportunities.
  • Education reintegration: For families with children, we assist with school re- enrolment by covering essential costs such as uniforms, textbooks, school fees, and learning assessments. Our teams also liaise with schools to ensure smooth transitions and tailored academic support when needed.
  • Housing support: For returnees without stable housing, IRARA sources temporary accommodation, rental subsidies, or repair grants. We also refer individuals to trusted housing providers and local legal advisors to help secure safe, long-term tenancy or property access.
  • Healthcare and psychosocial care: Through our network of local clinics and health providers, we ensure returnees can access primary healthcare, disability support, mental health counselling, and treatment for chronic conditions. For those affected by trauma, we coordinate counselling or group therapy to support emotional recovery.
  • Family tracing and reunification: In cases of family separation, IRARA offers support in locating and safely reconnecting individuals with their loved ones. This includes community outreach, mediation services, and coordination with child welfare organisations and legal authorities to ensure compliance and emotional safety.

Each reintegration pathway reflects IRARA’s person-centred philosophy. Our goal is to restore dignity, build confidence, and help individuals regain their place in society through the tools and support they need to thrive.
