Background:
Mr Singh moved to the UK on a student visa in pursuit of higher education and a brighter future. After a slightly difficult adaptation period he settled into his new life. However, he struggled to cover his expenses in the UK, due to this Mr Singh decided to return to India.
When he arrived in India, he was initially unaware of the reintegration services offered by IRARA. However, through meeting other returnees Mr Singh became aware of the retroactive support he could access from IRARA.
Reintegration:
After reaching out to IRARA Mr Singh received mental health counseling and guidance which helped him cope with his guilt from being unable to support his family whilst abroad. He described this support as invaluable to his reintegration, as it allowed him to heal emotionally and move forward with his life.
With the help of the IRARA team’s counselling Mr Singh decided to utilise his experiences abroad and the reintegration budget to start a tuition center providing educational resources for students who lacked access to quality education. This has been highly successful becoming a beacon of hope in the region by making education accessible to all.
Today Mr Singh’s tuition center is a great success, and he is very grateful to IRARA’s support for enabling him to follow his passion for education; helping him shape the futures of young learners.
