IRARA and GIZ Pakistan held productive discussions last week in Islamabad. These conversations were centred around the acceleration of Pakistan’s labour market through skilled human resources.

IRARA can provide a training platform via the IRARA Livelihood Hub for returnees where we help them learn new skills or update existing skills. This upskilled workforce would then benefit both the domestic Pakistan and international labour markets. Only a small percentage of people in Pakistan acquire the skills necessary to make them employable which in turn can lead to poverty. Employers from the private sector find it difficult to access the skilled labour they require, limiting Pakistan’s economic growth. Improving access to both technical and vocational education and ensuring the relevance of the training in order that it drives employability is something that IRARA focuses on through their reintegration programme.

IRARA looks forward to collaborating with GIZ on this and other integration projects throughout Pakistan.
